"Moved by the understanding that purity of the German Blood is the essential
condition for the continued existence of the German people, and inspired by
the inflexible determination to ensure the existence of the German Nation for
all time, the Reichstag has unanimously adopted the following Law..."
- The Nuremberg Race Laws, September 15 1935
The Nuremberg Laws were anti-Jewish laws which were passed on September 15th 1935 by the Nazi party, bringing them closer to the "pure" Aryan race which they strived for. These laws striped Jews of their citizenship and their right to marry whom they would like and others, including:
"employment by Jews of non-Jewish women who are under 45 years old to include the following work: Carrying milk and butter from a proprietor's establishment to his residence; transportation of coffee from a proprietor's dwelling to his place of business..." - Stricter Nuremberg Law, January 26 1938 Even though the legislation of the Nuremberg Laws was widely known, and evidently Anti-Semitic, many who were not affected did not react and neglected any action. |
A chart in the Nuremberg Laws which defined who a Jew was, depriving those who may not be Jewish but have Jewish heritage, their right to worship who they wish and express themselves freely.

"In 1935, the laws came out, the Nuremberg Laws. That was the first time you knew where you stood legally…. Before it was all guesswork. You could meet a Nazi in some office and he could exterminate you or you could meet a Nazi that was very human and he could help you…. Before 1935, before the laws came out of Nuremberg, you swam your way through…. You know, there was no regulations. The laws of Nuremberg was the first, ah, form, legal shape where you knew where you stood." - Bernhard Loesener |
